The Dell Precision 5510 was named one of the best laptops for designers and artists in 2016, and they’re pushing to make it even better in 2017.  The new design will come with faster processors and better graphics on the 5520 version.  Printing Fly, an established print shop Los Angeles, shares the details of the Dell Precision 5520 and how Apple is trying to compete with it.

Dell Precision 5520

  • 15″ Mobile Workstation
  • 7th Gen Intel® Processors
  • PremierColor 4K InfinityEdge Display
  • 8GB, DDR4-2400MHz SDRAM, 1 DIMMS
  • 5 00GB 2.5″ 7mm SATA (7200 RPM) Hard Drive
  • Intel HD Graphics Card
  • Windows 10 Pro 64bit Operating System

MacBook Pro

The Apple name is synonymous with creativity and to keep up with competition, they upgraded the Intel Core chips to match the 5510 and included a touchscreen strip just above the keyboard.   MacBooks are also known for being “stylish.”  However, designers and artists still crowned the 5510 as the king of design computers.

Ports

Anyone who takes issue with Apple’s approach to ports will appreciate the 5520, which comes with one Thunderbolt 3 port, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port and an SD Card reader.  What does the MacBook Pro come with?  One lousy USB-C port, which is also used to plug in the computer’s charger, so good luck charging your computer and transferring data at the same time.

For those that are loving the 5520 but looking for a bigger screen, Dell also offers the 7720 which comes with a 17” display and all the features you have come to love on the 5520.
